Mayor Bloomberg opens World Science Festival

In his opening address, the Mayor praised the city’s scientific institutions, and emphasized the need for science and politics to work together on the crucial challenges we face, from public health to climate change. Michael BloombergIt has just been announced that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is going to open the World Science Festival on Wednesday, May 28, with a key-note address at the Festival’s opening event, the World Science Summit. At the (invitation-only) Summit, more than 125 leaders from science, business, government, media, and academia will discuss the many ways in which science acts as a key player in global affairs.
